Day 4: Juniper Orange Infusion

Juniper Orange Infusion


  • 1 750ml bottle Belle Isle Premium Moonshine
  • 10 grams juniper
  • 1/2 tbsp black pepper
  • 7 grams orange zest
  • 5 grams lemon zest
  • 4 grams lemon peel
  • 4 grams orange peel
  • 10 grams coriander
  • 1 cinnamon stick


Combine all ingredients in Belle Isle Premium Moonshine. Store for 3 days, shake daily. Strain.


Cocktail: Winter Cardinal


  • 1.5oz Belle Isle Juniper Orange Infusion
  • 1/2oz lemon juice
  • 1/2oz Dry Vermouth
  • 1.5oz Cranberry Shrub (recipe below)
  • 2 dashes Angostura Orange Bitters


Combine all ingredients in shaker, add ice and shake. Fine strain into Martini glass. Garnish with Star Anise

Cranberry Shrub Recipe

  • 12 oz Cranberries
  • 3 oz Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 1/8 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 2 cups water

Bring to a simmer and stir often. Reduce heat and cook 5 minutes longer until all cranberries pop. Cool, strain, and bottle.
