Last week, our team traveled north for the #VisitRichmond Culinary Experience in New York along with Owen Lane of Vagabond, Brittanny Anderson of Metzger, and Brian Ahnmark of Blue Bee Cider. The event offered New York City-based food, travel, and lifestyle media and influencers an introduction to Richmond's exciting culinary scene.
The evening began with a cocktail hour that featured three cocktails made with Belle Isle Moonshine. The Metzger cocktail incorporated both Belle Isle Moonshine and Blue Bee Cider. H'ordeuvres prepared by Chefs Brittanny Anderson and Owen Lane were given out during cocktail hour. Kjell Anderson from Metzger, Adam Stull from Vagabond and James Kohler from the soon-to-be Brenner Pass made drinks and shared information about the ingredients with the guests. Vince Riggi and Gregg Brooks from Belle Isle, Brian Ahnmark from Blue Bee and David Peterson and Peter Womack from Vagabond were also on hand to mingle with guests and share information about featured products and the Richmond Region in general.
The seated dinner included four courses prepared by Chef Brittanny Anderson from Metzger and Owen Lane from Vagabond. Dishes ranged from Lane's Beef Tartare to Anderson's Doppelbock. Each course was paired with Blue Bee Cider. The chefs introduced each course and Brian from Blue Bee explained the cider pairings.
